Mount Olive Bible Institute and Seminary is incorporated in the State of New York and Florida as a non-profit corporation.  It is recognized as a 501© (3) organization by the Internal Revenue Service.  Mount Olive Bible Institute and Seminary is approved and accepted by the Commission for independent education, having complied with Section 1005.06 (1) (F), Florida statutes pursuant to religious institutions, and also with the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia statutes pursuant to 8 VAC 40-31-50 state exemption.

Mount Olive Bible Institute & Seminary is a religious institution exempt from state regulation and oversight in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Private Institutions: Religious Degrees list – 

23-276.2 (C) of the Code of Virginia exempts from the provisions of certification any postsecondary institution whose primary purpose is to provide religious or theological education.  The titles of degrees, diplomas, or certificates awarded by a school that claims a religious exemption must reflect that the school’s primary purpose is religious training or theological education and is not secular or liberal arts education.

Mount Olive Bible Institute & Seminary is Accredited with  Accrediting Commission International a non-governmental agency.

An accrediting organization is a watchman on the wall. Webster defines accreditation as to give trust or confidence to; to vouch for; to recommend; to furnish with credentials, as an envoy or ambassador. Every accreditation group is not the same. They are different and focused in different areas of accreditation.

Accrediting Commission International is an international accrediting commission which holds as its primary objective the encouragement and maintenance of sound scholarship and the highest academic achievement in the areas of private education. Quality education is the goal at all times. Its purpose is the preparation of quality education in private schools, colleges, and theological seminaries. It is a non-governmental body and makes no claim to be connected with the government.

A degree covers the major taken with that degree. A student or potential student must understand that credits taken in one type of program may or may not transfer to another type program. This is the sole determination of the receiving institution.

Accrediting Commission International only works with private schools.

As a private institution the Mount Olive Bible Institute & Seminary operate with legal right by law to offers educational programs that prepare students for religious vocations as ministers, professionals, or laypersons in the categories of ministry, counseling, theology, education, administration, music, fine arts, media communications, or social work.

Mt. Olive Bible Institute & Seminary primary purpose is religious training and theological education (FL & VA), not secular or liberal arts education

Mount Olive Bible Institute & Seminary will accept any transfer of credits from any schools under this classification.  However transfer of secular credits is not guaranteed for acceptance into our religious programs.   It must also be noted that the Mount Olive Bible Institute & Seminary will confer strictly religious degrees and therefore no guarantee is given or implied for acceptance into the secular world.

All degrees are conferred by the Mount Olive Bible Institute and Seminary of Miramar, Florida and/or Alexandria, Virginia.

The Commission for Independent Education has statutory responsibilities in matters relating to nonpublic, postsecondary, educational institutions. In keeping with the Florida Department of Education’s goal of producing a seamless educational system, some of these functions include consumer protection, program improvement, institutional policies and administration, data management, and the licensure of independent schools, colleges and universities.
