Doctor of Theology – Th.D (50 Credit hours)

Doctor of Theology degree program is an advanced program grounded in a core of specialized courses that provide students with an advanced knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage Christian organizations. This program also offers experienced ministers opportunities to enhance skills in theological reflection, research design and methods within a specified area of ministry to improve their service and leadership among God’s people. The program consists of 50 credit hours.

An in-depth discussion on hermeneutic study, the principles and techniques of Bible interpretation are reviewed. An overview of the basic methods and rules for interpreting types, figurative and prophetical language is taught. A deep eschatological study is examined into the views of the pre, mid and post millennial beliefs using a survey of the study of Daniel with special emphasis given on the prophecies relating to the end times. Thesis research writing is required for this course. This advanced program can be valuable for preachers, teachers and all Christian workers

Doctor of Philosophy is a terminal degree program designed to enhance the analytical, interpersonal, and professional skills of our students.

The Ph.D. student will successfully complete a dissertation (160/200 pages). In addition to the Focus Courses, a research project is designed to expand the knowledge of the field in the focus area of study, and to demonstrate that the degree candidate has conducted independent scholarly analysis and implementation of research findings in ministry context.

Mt. Olive Bible Institute & Seminary Ph.D in Theology program is designed to give the theological student an overview of the history of western philosophy thought, focusing on the development of western philosophy, from the Greeks to the early Christians into the Middle ages reaching the modern world. The Doctor of Christian Psychology/Counseling program is designed as a Nouthetic discourse studied in accordance with Biblical principles. This program also offers experienced ministers the opportunity to enhance skills in Christian psychology reflection, research design and methods within a specified area of counseling ministry to improve their service and leadership among God’s people.
Doctoral students will be able to freely incorporate Christian principles during counseling. During counseling there will be interaction of other faiths, a study on cults, world religions is examined to give an insight on their dogma. Students will also study Church history reviewing the stages of the church from inception to the present day standards.
